Outbuddies DX is an action-packed adventure game by Julian Laufer, available on Nintendo Switch. The game features non-linear Metroidvania gameplay, allowing players to explore five distinct areas with remarkable puzzles, environmental hazards, epic boss encounters, and captured Wozan to uncage.
The game's main protagonist is Nikolay Bernstein, an adventurer and maritime archaeologist who regains consciousnessfeet under the sea following a shipwreck. He is severely wounded and unwillingly connected to a supernatural Buddy-unit. Searching for answers about his displacement, Nikolay digs deep into the lost undercity of Bahlam, a sunken city of the Old Gods, located deep in the South Atlantic Ocean.
As players progress through the game, they will discover ancient weapon systems, suit upgrades, and hacking protocols for their droid. All gear is carefully balanced in terms of combat abilities and has to be used selectively to overcome specific hazards and puzzles. The game also features local co-op, allowing a second player to control the invincible Buddy unit and explore and experience the adventure together.
